Extend your children’s English and French vocabulary by exposing them to words that are the same/similar in both languages.
Each word includes a grammatically correct sentence in English and French.
I give these to one or two children in a lesson & invite them to become the ‘Grammar Police’. You can also allow them to wear a tabard or police hat. They sneak around the room & try to find errors in their peer’s work. This has worked as a really engaging form of peer assessment at our school.
High 5 SPAG & English resource to consolidate key terms before leaving the classroom. The children need to say an example of the word class on the hand & say it out loud before leaving the classroom. They can High 5 the hand as they walk by.
The children are required to draw pictures to show their understanding of the two sentences which have been punctuated differently to avoid ambiguity. 3 Pages of challenges.
New curriculum formative assessment grids to replace APP or similar for teachers on going assessments. This will help you to establish if your children are beginning/developing/embedded or mastery. It included all of the statutory KPIs and NCDs. These are categorised into different areas of writing which will help you to clearly establish gaps. £1 per year group or £5 for all year groups (year 1-year 6). I have also made child speak assessment materials for the children- please see my other files.
Generic Guided reading grids-I have advised my teachers to get the KPIs and NCDs from the individual file so that they know what they should focus on each week within guided reading.
There is a individual reading grid for all of the year groups. I write the name of the book, date and evidence when I am hearing a child read. There is a simple sheet attached to for parent helpers or similar to use. You can then transfer this as evidence onto your grid or alternatively train your parent helpers/TAs up to use the grids with the KPIs & NCDs on.
